Bethany is a registered psychologist with the Psychology Board of Australia and an Associate member of the Australian Psychological Society.

Her employment has been clinically based in the private and public mental health sectors since 2008. She was the Senior Psychologist for the NSW Health Tweed/Byron Local Hospital District in 2014 and 2015.  She has worked in private and public adult mental health inpatient units from 2008 to 2015. She has extensive experience in all areas of acute and community adult mental health within the NSW Health Service. This includes MHEC; Mental Health Emergency Consultant at the Tweed Hospital Emergency Department, Assessment Team/ACS (Acute Care Service), Treatment Team/ECS (Extended Care Service/case management), group therapy for the rehabilitation programme and acute adult mental health inpatient services.

Bethany specialises in chronic and complex mental health issues, trauma and PTSD, drug and alcohol issues and mood and personality disorders. She can assist with areas of assessment and diagnosis, clinical psychology, counselling, psychopharmacology, neurocognitive testing, family and carer support, psycho-education, education and training, and treatment planning and management for people aged 16 to 80.

Bethany aims to use the most current, evidence-based, effective treatment modalities available. Bethany offers psychological intervention and counselling for a range of psychosocial, mood, psychosis-related, trauma-related and behavioural issues people may have from adolescence through to adults.

She has completed intensive training in assisting clients who have experienced sexual abuse as children. She was selected by the Education Facilitator Dr Mim Weber for the NSW Health Tweed/Byron network to assist with the implementation and education of staff in NSW Health Trauma-Informed Care and Sexual Safety Policy and Procedures to clinicians at the Tweed Valley Clinic (TVC) in the Tweed Hospital in 2014 and 2015.

Bethany studied Buddhism alongside Psychology at the University of Sydney. Her passions are meditation, mindfulness, vipassana, people and this planet, yoga, and eastern, indigenous and western mythology, religion and philosophy.

Her clinical experience and broad knowledge create a genuine, authentic, and rich experience for her clients.  Compassion for yourself and development of your wisdom and connection to it is her goal.
